Some of the items I have kept to show other customers/technicians. First 3 pictures show piston and cracked rod with intact bearings. This is from customer servicing his engine and read on the "internet" he could reuse his head gaskets, this was a 1993 200 Evinrude that $40.00 worth of gaskets and misinformation cost him $1500.

The second set of pic's is ring pin migration on the V-6 OMC Loopers, this is why water pump need changed yearly and if being rebuilt water mod's be done to block.

Not boat related, but I have a triumph piston with two valves embedded in the top. That's what happens when you don't line the timing marks up when you put the camshaft in. Looks like a little jester hat. Kinda of apropos, really.

I bought that motor really cheap. :)

I read on the "internet" you could use JB Weld and emory cloth to fix those pistons and rods. :)

Re: Customers Hall of Fame!!

I still have the brake rotor from my Old Dodge diplomat hanging on the wall. I got the car for free since "the brakes are completley shot"

Turns out the owner had driven the car with the front brakes metal on metal so long the brake pad was gone, the caliper piston was rubbing on the rotor and eventually wore through to the fins on the rotor and the piston popped out of the caliper.

$30 for a rotor, $30 for a caliper and the car was good to go. damn thing lasted me 3 years and even the A/C still blew cold.
