cut a rapid hitch?

I have a 10" drop rapid hitch which I used when I had a big lifted truck...I now have a 'not so big' lifted truck, and the drop on the hitch is too much. I like to leave the hitch on the truck with the locks, but the length of it sometimes scrapes on a steep driveway, and it kinda looks funny being so long on my truck...
I dont want to spend another $250-$300 for another rapid hitch, as I need to use both ball sizes..anyone know if I can cut off a couple of inches from the drop and not affect the integrity of the hitch???

Probably wouldn't hurt it if it was just the bottom, I would however pay a shop to cut it with a cold saw or high pressure water so there would not be any heat damage

Sell it and buy one that will fit your current truck. Win/Win for you and the buyer ;)

Should be fine, just keep it cool. My first choice of tool would be a medium tooth blade in a sawzall. Any type of abrasive cutter will really heat up aluminum.

I've got the 5 1/4" drop and even with that I scrape sometimes. Luckily it hits the body and not the bottom ball.
