Cutting out - Eletrical or fuel problem??

ive run out of ideas i have a 79 johnson 100 and it runs good and smooth at idel and up to about half throttel. from half to full throttel it cuts out and bogs down and sometime takes back off and sometimes stalls :confused: <br />so far ive tried a few new coils, new plugs, drained and replaced the fuel.. with no change :mad: <br /> any suggestions would be much apreciated thanks

Sounds like water or debris in the float bowl(s). Drain them or better yet remove and inspect. All it would take is a few grains of grit or floaty gunk to shut down the fuel flow. Water will do the same. Good luck!

It does sound like water in your fuel. Dump the carb bowls and make sure your fuel tank is clean. Flush out your fuel hose and clean the filter. Use new fuel and try it again. So far this will be the cheap way out if it works.<br /><br />Good luck :)

thanks for the thoughts i have had the carbs off once and cleaned them and drained the fuel lines and tank and i think it helped shortly but not for long.. so i guess ill try it again. dont have much of a choice...<br />do u think it could be something with the fuel pump or lines??? :confused: (just a thought im up for any) its been a very stressfull few weeks :mad: when i first bought the boat it ran good for the first weekend then this crap<br />thanks for any sugestion and help :)
