Cutting up, trashing a hull?

Hi,

What's the best way to cut up, and/or get rid of a boat. The hull in question is a 22' sportcraft. I'm thinking a sawza, but what other tool would work fast/easy?

Or will a dump take it whole? Any idea on cost to drop it off?

A sawzall will work and the dumps usually charge by weight but why not check your local craigslist boat section and see if there's someone willing to haul it away for free?

Call your local dump first some take it whole and some want it cut up.

Chainsaw will work but makes a heck of a mess

Our local dump takes them whole. They tell you where to go, then just shove it off the trailer. Take a couple buddies with you.

Did you try calling one of those non-profits that are always asking folks to donate their cars and or boats and you get the tax credit?

However, the fact that your thread is about cutting up the hull leads me to believe that theirs not much value there for anyone anyway.

I actually tried calling one of those non profit donate your car deals and they wouldn't take it unless it was running and registered and in good operable condition. If it was I would've kept it.

Chainsaw is faster than a sawzall but also messier (a bit more dangerous IMO also). Dust mask is a must.

Saw this ad on our local C/L today. Crazy stuff, I wonder what his back yard looks like?

A front end loader will take care of an old boat.

$30 and an hour trip to the landfill got rid of my old 17' glass boat. I had to have the title in my name and they took the title before I could dump the boat.

I don't think I've seen a free boat yet that someone didn't take. People do all sorts of things with them - planters, sand boxes, shooting range targets, etc.

Agreed!

One thing I have plenty of is space... where are you located? Does it have a trailer? (doesnt matter just wondering).

If its not too far I may be interested in "disposing" of it for you. :D
