Cylinder and Crankcase a Matched Set?

I broke the little ear on the port side of crankcase that the rubber bumper fixes to. I believe this is only to keep the housing from pushing in. I am tempted to JB Weld it back, but before I do I wanted to know if the cylinder and crankcase are a matched set? If not, I will maybe try and find a crankcase. Thanks!

Yes, they are a matched set.

Ouch, that's what I was afraid of. You see any problem with JB Welding it back on? It doesn't seem to do much but hold the bumper in place.

I would get it welded. The rubber stops the timer base from advancing to th point it will detonate the pistons.Big trouble.JB weld might work.Ive seen it do great jobs.If you clean the surfaces well,it may do it.if you have a guy locally that can wel alu.I suggest that ,because, the weld will be like OR better thn new if the welder knows his stuff.
