Hi all,
Taking the boat out for the winter, I forgot to lift the lag, and have broken off a small chunk right at the end of the fin. Can this be rounded out with a grinder or.....? and will it affect the running of the boat?
Also, last time the boat was out the tach worked fine..this time no tach as soon as the boat was started. It's a new tach installed last season and was working properly prior.
Any help with both these will be appreciated....relatively new boater here! ( you can obviously tell!!

Skeg is fine like that.
You can smooth it with a grinder if you like.
Won't impact anything.
Check the wiring for the tach.

Not that it matter much, but I would fix that for about $30 in my welding business shop. 20 minutes and ready for paint.

Had a friend run with the skeg completely gone for many years... No issue.
