Dang new 50 Johnson-oil alarm

I have a 50 Johnson on my boat. It's an '03 model with 60-80 hours on it. Last time I took it out the oil alarm sounded after a few miniutes idleing. I shut it down and restarted after checking everything out. It ran fine for a few min. smoking away nicely, then the alarm sounded again. Can't figure out what the problem is. The oil tank has plenty of oil, it smokes like it always has, no water in the oil tank, the bulb is firm, I've never let it get low in the oil tank. I'm sure there is a blessing in this, can't wait to see what it is

There is a blessing. You have a Warranty and I would use it...

Yeah...what Rick said...HooRay for warranties.. <br /><br />Was the alram a 1/2 sec every 20 secs' or so or was it an urgent 1/2sec every 1/2sec type alarm?<br /><br />If it was the quick alarm....don't run her until ya' get it checked out...that's the oil restriction warning.<br /><br />Let us know what happens SW.....thanks.
