Dashboard Clock

I was wondering what others have done to add a dashboard clock.
I was tired of having LCD clocks get fried by the sun/heat. After a long search, I simply settled on buying a cheap ($8) analog (with hands) Casio watch, removing the band, and sticking it on with double-sided tape.
Is there really a void in the market for cheap, analog, dashboard clocks?

I'd bet there's not enough demand for any of the major manufacturers to be able to justify the time and expense to manufacture them.

You aren't looking very hard. Clocks like the one below are available at Marine dealers, Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc. You might even try Great Lakes Skipper.

i have an old plain and simple cd player in the dash of my boat. it will display either the radio station or a clock. i have mine set for the clock. unless i remove the face plate the clock is always on.

when i first read that, i was thinking, yep, that's the way to go. carefree. however. whilest i was showering just now, it dawned on me.

time can be very important while boating.
if your piloting a boat. you need to know two of three things. time, distance, speed. w/o knowing two you can't discover the third to pilot by.
time would also be beneficial if ya have a large boat. you may need to know time so you can adj. your passage under a bridge that may be to low at high tide, or an inlet that may be to shallow to pass at low tide. if ya knew time, with your trusting tide charts you would be able to know when you can safely make passage...

True. However, I have a GPS/chartplotter that lists tides, time of day, and maintains trip passage according to preset(s) course & speed. Now, the only time I need to keep track of is what time the blender gets going!!
