Howdy, Jeff.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. <br /><br />I would recommend 50:1 for that '71, though 40:1 would do no harm.<br /><br />If you experience plug fouling or excess smoke, try the 50:1. That is what OMC specified.<br /><br />Good luck.

Yes, as JB said, it does indeed specify 50:1 as the mix. I was just erroring to the side of caution because of the age of the motor. Just to let you know 50:1 is correct and 40:1 was just my thoughts..
