Does anyone know why Mercury chose to name what I believe is one of their newest props, the Spitfire aluminum, the same as one of their existing props, the Spitfire X7 which is SST? Seems like strange marketing.

Perhaps it is an Aluminium version of the Prop, it certainly would be cheaper than a Prop made from X7, wouldn't perform quite as well, but cheaper

The x7 is mercury’s lightweight stainless alloy range of props. Apparently stronger and as a result thinner blades. The enertia prop was about or maybe the first one I knew, with it. I have one of them. It’s certainly considerably lighter than the tempest plus, in comparison. Very noticeable
