Day Started Out Pretty Good.........

Took the wife to the airport to catch a flight to Florida to spend the week with her sister. Got the place to myself! YES ! ! ! Stopped by big box store on the way home to pick up tools for a cook top installation project I had planned for the day. Stopped in Wally's place to see if they had a window unit A/C to replace to broken one in my camp house at the deer camp.....they had what just what I wanted and they cut me a break cause it was the display model!! I'm feelin good ! ! ! Gonna be a good day...got a steak in the freezer to cook....gonna watch the Bristol race....life is good ! Then the wifes little lap dog eats a bate of rat poison down at my shop while I'm gathering tools for the cook top project. Woundup cleanin up dog vomit from 9:30 till noon after takin her to the vet to get her stomach pumped full of peroxide to make her puke the poison up. Now the little B_ _ CH smells like puke and I got to bath her ! ! ! !

Sure killed my day.............little B_ _CH is gonna be fine.

Lol... How did your florida trip go a month back or so? You use any of those charters I suggested? I never heard back from you....

relocyo, the family trip was great. The house we stayed in was perfect for the group we had. I really appreciate the captains you suggested but it turned out that the bro-n-law found a guy and we went with him. didnt catch alot but had a good time any way!

Ya know................its truly amazing how fast peroxide will go in and come out of a little 6.5 lb dog......both ends ! ! ! ! Ever seen a dog squirt foam out ???

My brother's lab ate my nephew's chocolate bday cake this year off the table. The whole cake. He and his brother got the peroxide treatment cause brother didn't know which one ate the cake. Well It didn't take long to find out... :facepalm:

Hey, fair enough, glad you got out there anyway! Whod you end up going with? I know a bunch of those guys... Whatd you catch? If I recall you went at the height of red snapper season and generally speaking most captains filled the holds with the super delicious fish... Just curious glad you had fun... I get to enjoy it every day! Hehehe...

Sorry for the rough day ... wasn't going to comment much except that I've got some pretty hysterical visual images of a little dog squirting foam.

The dog might not be out of the woods yet. Those rodent baits are long acting. The general antidote for rodent baits containing the active ingredient Bromadiolone, Brodifacoum, etc, is vitamin K-1. Usually, the vet gives a shot of K-1 for the first treatment, followed by K-1 in pill form with a fatty diet to help absorb the poison. Be careful
Rodent baits are nothing but anticoagulants, causing what ever eats it to bleed internally .

I caught the dog eating the poison and got her to the vet in less that 2 minutes....another minute later she was puking the poison on the vets table....we stayed there till what she was puking up was clear. She didnt have the poison in her any longer than 3 minutes....4 minutes tops. The vet gave her the k-1 shot and I do have the k-1 pills to give her. He told me a keep an eye on her gums...if they started to turn white to give him a call and bring her to his house...that he would be in town all weekend long. She is drinking ok but has yet to eat much of anything. She did eat a couple of her vavorite treats lastnight but that is about it. You can tell she still doesnt feel real sporty this morning.

The patient seems to getting a little more active the last couple days. The only thing thats worrying me now is she is still not eating like she should and is still throwing up. Strangle though, she's not throwing up during the day. Its at night around 9 oclock that she does this. The only thing the vet told to watch for was her gums and tounge turning white and thats not happening. There is no blood in what she's givng back either......I guess her little stomach still irritated.
