Since DST has stopped in the US, my times (on iBoats posts) are now off by an hour. I have checked my own settings, and I'm good at 8 hours ahead of GMT...

The iBoats servers are in Utah (I think),.. Did Utah change time on Friday?

Chris......

11:12 PM
Saturday, November 2, 2013 (MDT)
Time in Draper, UT

They don't change until 1:29:59 AM Sunday, so the clocks are screwed for almost another 3 hours, Chris.

It's tonight, or at 2 AM on 03/11/2013, Sunday. You don't do time changes in OZ, do you?

... You really don't want to go there!!!

Uppp, too late, you're there... :D

In non-summer, Australia has 3 time zones...
WST (Western Standard Time) in Western Australia, which is GMT +8 hours.
CST (Central Standard Time) which is in South Australia and the Northern Territory and is GMT +9 and a half hours (yes, 9.5 hours!)
EST (Eastern Standard Time) for Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Tasmania. GMT +10 hours.

That was the easy part.... Now, in October each year SOME of these place do a crazy thing, like move the clocks forward one hour (why has never been explained properly to me... I know all the arguments 'for' and I'm not interested in hearing them again... Just saying...)

So, we end up with...

Western Australia... Stays the same, GMT +8.
South Australia moves, so becomes GMT +10 and a half hours (CDT). Northern Territory does not move.
Queensland does not move (stays at GMT +10), but the rest do and become EDT, at GMT +11....

So, during summer Australia has 5 time zones.... One of which (SA) is WEST of another (Queensland), but ahead of it by 30 minutes.... :loco:

HTH,

Chris........

Seems like it is a bigger process than rolling over the millennium :D

I'm not sure that I'm liking this several week extension that the U.S. has imposed on DST . . .

What's this 1hr of extra sleep all about??????? I just got up 1hr earlier! I hate it when we roll the clocks back in fall. Getting dark 1hr early for months isn't much fun.. Just seems to make for a longer winter than it already is. They tried to explain their reasoning to us too. I really don't think the powers that be believe it anymore................ When we spring ahead, just leave it..............

Psst - Hey buddy, what time is it? :)

What brain sturgeon came up with that? Sorry I asked, Chris. Can't we just set it and forget it?
