1996 mercury Oil Inj 125hp
Well.When I first bought the boat it had a pop at idle adjusted the idle and air screws a little some RAN GREAT......This weekend I took it out idled a bit rough went to hit it and it wouldnt come up on plane took like 20 seconds to get it up to speed.It usually runs 50mph and it was running 32mph.SO I thought it was fuel filter and water seperator....Cleaned the sperator out took it out the next day ran like a champ ALL DAY.We stopped to get some fuel at a lil boat dock.It then had a hard time starting it NEVER has a hard time starting.If it puts it any smoke its for maybe a second or two once you start it not much just a tiny bit.I popped the top off and noticed one of the spark plug wires wasnt REALLY clipping on very well so I took them off put them on Boat turned RIGHT over never had a problem till we took the boat out.AS I was sitting waiting for my friend to back the trailer in the water it stalled twice and was idling rough when we went to put it on the trailer it stalled and did not start again....Its only at idle speed and when I put it into gear waiting for the trailer AFTER the gas from the marina it NEVER does this.....It stalled TWICE and had a hard time starting....
Could this be a combo of new spark plug wires, Needing of new fuel filter and spark plugs? And MAYBE the gas from that boat dock in it...Someone said that gas never gets used it may be old maybe dirty too...some stable or some sea foam?
Like I said it doesnt smoke bad at all...It will normally start no choke at all..First time it did it yesterday untill the boat dock and then later waiting for the trailer......After cleaning out the filter and messing with that spark plug wire it ran great till the dock.
Any suggestions?
