I have an '89 Evinrude 150hp that I just bought and I am not sure if it has ever been de-carbed before. This thing may blow black crap everywhere so I was wondering, can I de-carb on the hose? If so, how long do I run it?

Yup, been there saw that, but one instructs to do it on the lake, and the other says to run it full throttle on the late with a warning not to do it in front of the garage door. Just wanting a little clarification.

Didn't realize that was limited. Try this link: web page

I use the Mercury Power Tune sometimes. The label specifically says not to use on a flushing device, but does suggest a test tank with propeller installed.

My guess is that the concern is a runaway engine.
