we were cruising along at about 8mph when "clunk" the tranny seems to disengage. I shut the motor off and trimmed the outdrive (235 omc sterndrive on a 1977 24' sea ray) and I couldn't see any damage to the skeg or the prop. Trimmed her down and started her up but when i went to engage the tranny; i got nothing the motor revs but the prop isn't turning. so I try to put it in reverse and I got nothing , except now after killing the motor i can't trim it up and it won't start, turns out the fuse on the ignition blew when I put it in reverse. I'm positive that?s what did it because when I turned the ignition to acc. and engaged the tranny (to see what kind of amps I was drawing) I noticed a 2.5 amp draw in forward and 10+ draw in reverse before the fuse blew again. Also the prop won?t turn very easily ny hand now. What is going on with this boat I have had her out three times and something has gone wrong each time, I really like the boat but I'm starting to think I'm not meant to have it. I had my 17.5 bayliner capri for 4 years and never had a single problem (other than the norm; trailer lights and a dead battery) . someone help please this boat is trying my patience
