Just want some opinions on this purchase. We might be placing a down payment today if it all goes well.

2001 Ebbtide Campione 210 with a volvo 5.0L Gi (250hp). Its in above average condition for an 01 and its clear that its been well maintained. Seller has most service records and reciepts. Comes with no extras other than the trailer and the bimini top...

We took I like test and liked everything about the boat except its holeshot power. We felt it took off a little slow, and this is a concern being that water sports are primary use for us. However, it had a three blade SS prop of which pitch I am unaware. So Im sure putting a low pitch four or 5 blade on there will cure that problem. As is the boat ran about 48 with 900lbs in the boat.

We will be getting it professionally checked after putting a down payment on it. Just want some opinions. We are paying $15,000.

Thanks all, any response is appreciated.

When I read the post my first thought was engine size for that size boat its a 21 footer right. My brother in law had a 05 four winns same size boat and motor and it was not to stout out of the hole he tried a number of different props it did get a bit better with a high five type prop. but it was never any power house out of the hole. He ended up selling after job loss hated to sell but wasn't too bad given the underpower issues. 250 horse out of a 5.0 is squeezing every last bit out of it, its only a 305 cubic inch. My 350 mag is only rated at 270 horse(it is carbed though not efi). I have a 20' crownline with the 350 mag and a hi five prop and that thing will pull anything out of the water, I lose some on the top end because of the hi five but I am all about the watersports so it works well for me. That is a very nice boat though might be able to re-prop and be fine, I have always heard though there is no substitute for displacement and I agree.

Good deal or bad? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think the important thing you said is the maintenance records. That is important. The rest is personal preferences. If you got it for water sports then you should be able to prop it to satisfy those needs. But to get a good looking boat with service records is usually a good deal. The price is always a controversy. Some will say Great!! others not so great. If you like it.... "GREAT DEAL"
