Dear CATransplant 1966 100hp evinrude

While doing an internet search on how to replace the impeller on an 1966 evinrude I came across your thread about replacing an impeller on a 1960s??? evinrude.http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=257475. While Im sure our outboards are different there was some similaraties. My question is how similar are they? because I can not get the lower end to come off the mid section. Also, Im not exactly sure where the impeller is located. If you could please point me in the right direction on this. My buddy and I are the ones repairing this motor and we both mechanically inclined but are fairly new to boat motors. So any help on this matter will be appreciated.
