I thought it was just so that the boat pirates couldnt tell what make/model outboard you ran on your boat...Now I just noticed these decals dont stand up to the weather as they use to ...mine have just peeled right off the covers in less than a year.

imho

the decal is only as good as how they are applied.

just like paint... if the surface is prepped properly
they should last for a long time....years!

if prepped properly and they still come off...thats something to take up with the manufacturer.

in the 50's they were paint, 60's 70's they were plastic, clipped on. new are pealing decals, the uv rays eat.
