I dont know if any one has tried seaform deep creed before but it made a believer out of me this weekend. I have a 1979 80 hp Merc I pulled all for plugs out and sprayed each cyl. and let it set for a hour.I had all the spark plugs hooked up to the boots and grounded and turned it over a few times and reinstalled the plugs.I hooked the muffs up and got it started and then shot a bunch in each carb and shut it down for 15 minutes and staterd it again to clear it out.Last year the best I could get was right around 5 gran for rpms. Now it will run almost 5600 so it really worked on my old motor.

Re: Decarb a motor

I've actually witnessed a completely frozen motor come back to life after pouring seafoam into each cylinder, and into the intake and letting it sit overnight. The motor is still running after a year and no noticeable issues. Since then, Im a firm believer and keep a few cans in the garage at all times. I've even started using the spray SeaFoam to fog my engine for the winter.

While there are many others Sea Foam is the best.. I use it in all my outboards..For my fuel injected motors, I mix one gallon with a can....It has evened out the compression on motors that were all over the board.. My buddies use in their auto shops to help get the cars to pass smog...You should decarbon you outboard every season to keep the carbon down to a minimum....

Was about to decarb my outboard till I heard some old motors may actually lose compression as carbon washes out.4 strokes more so than 2 strokes. It's definitely making me think about it, will probably still do it.
