decarb and carb cleaner

My 1994 Johnson 50 is still winterized and I'm working on the water pump rebuild now. I have the "johnson" brand decarbing spray and a can of carburator cleaner.
As preventative maintence I'd like to decarb the cylinders and clean the carbs once I get everything back together. Any suggestions on what order to do these?

Decarb first, clean carbs next, replace spark plugs last?

FYI the decarbing solution has a fitting that fits "bike tire fitting" on the side of engine.

Re: decarb and carb cleaner

That can of carb cleaner should only be used on a removed and disassembled carb. Do not just spray it down the throat of the carb. Only thing that will do is remove lubrication from the powerhead. If you're looking for preventative maintenance for the carburetor, use the cap'n dunkelberger decarb method of loading up the fuel with seafoam. Pushing seafoam through the fuel system will clean it up nicely.
