My compression readings are 120,120,115 & 90. My rpms have dropped to about 4000. When a motor is decarbed and the compression is succesfully raised, do the rpms pick back up?

Re: decarb and rpm

It certainly wouldn't hurt to try it at this point. Hopefully, it will re-gain some of the power you lost. It has worked for others in the past. Keep your fingers crossed real tight.. 1500 or so is alot to lose, even at 90 PSI...

Decarb

I prefer to use the spray decarb. called Deep Creep, available at NAPA. Run the motor on the muffs or in a barrel until warm and spray into carb throats evenly. Then give them a good shot until you kill the engine. Let it sit for an hour or so and when you start it, it will blow all the carbon out. Best to do this procedure and then take it to the lake and run the heck out of it, to really blow it out...
