Have a '83 175 Evinrude that is trailered to ramp on narrow river that leads to Gulf of Mexico after 40 minutes of no wake zone. Plenty of waterfront homes.
Looks like I need to keep RPM's up during decarb.
Is this safe to do out of the water, on trailer, only using muffs?
That way, it would be easy to let it sit and soak between applications.
Otherwise, would need to go out in the gulf a little ways, and would not want to sit for long between applications, or have starting issues. Can not do it at ramp or dockside.
Also, was originally going to use Seafoam, since I've used it for years in my other stuff, but a couple people have told me that with this motor I should use OMC stuff that comes in a can and screws directly into a schrader type valve on starboard side of engine. Will that make a difference as to where and how I perform the decarb procedure?
What would you do?
Thanks.
