I want to run a decarb on my 1983 75HP Evinrude using Seafoam and have read through the FAQ. Currently I have a quick connect fuel hose that runs from the portable tank to the fuel/water seperator and then a hose to the engine. Can I run the seafoam mixture through the fuel/water sperator or do I need to buy another hose?

Re: Decarb

I would not see a problem with the water separator. Just follow the directions, and maybe change the plugs when done.

Re: Decarb

Every time I've done it using the "tank" method, I've run it through my water separating filter. It sure smokes and smells like the Seafoam is getting to the engine! I don't think the water separating filter can separate anything that's actually dissolved in the fuel (e.g. oil, Seafoam, other fuel additives) - it is designed to separate undissolved water and particles.
