Hi I read the secret files on decarbeing in the end of the article it states to run the engine at high speed or take it for a ride.. My question is I trailer my boat and the town (Wantagh, Long Island N.Y.) boat slip will have a fit and probally call some agency if I did it down at the dock, can I do this on the trailer maybe in a tub or tank?? I bought this boat used and feel it can use it I have already tuned it up (plugs, fuel pump rebuild, carb rebuild, water pump & thermostst`s ,oil change , wires) it run`s good but really would like to have a carefree boating season think this would really help being the boat sat fot a whiloe and don`t think it was really taken care of as well as it should have been..motor is a 1982 140 johnson v4 Thanks any advice is alway`s appreciated..

I sprayed aerosol seafoam( I think its called deep creep seafoam) into each cylinder and let it soak for 30 minutes, then fire it up at high idle and watch the carbon come out the exh, compression went up each time. We also sprayed some into the carbs while it was idling 1200 rpm on the hose. It didn't make as much smoke this way.

I did it very similar to jonesg 's method. Though not such high of rpms. I did this on a sunday morning then took her out in the afternoon just to finish off the job. You wont believe the difference it makes!
