I have a 1985 Merc 75hp and I don't think it's been decarbonized since I'ved own it in 90 what advantages would I gain from it and should it be done?

Re: decarbonizing

Hi Twitch.

Decarbing usually helps and never hurts. It will restore compression and improve general performance if it was needed.

I think your engine probably needs it after 14 years.

Check the articles on decarbing in the Engine FAQ section.

Good luck. :)
