Deck Boat Faucet Repair

I am looking at purchasing a used deck boat that has a small faucet and little round sink. The drain from the sink is properly connected and runs out through a small hole in the side of the hull, however, the hose to the faucet was cut and there is nothing else installed. I would like to reconnect the faucet and get it working again, but I'm not sure what it had originally. Do these deck boat faucets suck in water from the lake/river or should there be a fresh water tank on board somewhere? I'm guessing there should also be some electrical wires for a pump unless it was some kind of manual pump. The boat is a Monterey 230 Explorer. Thanks for any insight....

The faucet MAY be a pump... If that is the case then all you are missing is a tank.

Otherwise you will need a pump and tank.

Search "rv water pump" same thing but all over the web.

Oh and you CAN use lake water but I wouldn't want to... What would be the point... You can wash with lake water at the swim platform.

Ok, here's what the faucet looks like. Its missing the spigot. Is the little lever a pump? I'm hoping the tank is still in the boat, but I'd probably want a new one any way. It definitely wasn't in the storage compartment directly below the sink. Thanks again!

Ok, cool. So I just need a new hand pump faucet with a hose that connects to a tank underneath? I figure I only need a few gallons at the most since we won't be drinking it. It would be mainly for washing hands and maybe fruit. Maybe I should put a small keg underneath. =)

Are there any special tank requirements? I know it should have a vent. Can it vent into the storage locker or does it need to vent out of a vent hole in the hull? Finally, a lot of the water tanks are soft. I would probably opt for something rigid. Does it have to meet some kind of marine specs or can it be something as simple as a jug? Thanks again!

You can use any tank you want and vent it pretty much anywhere...

Here's a thought tho.... Maybe just fix up a rack for the two gallon jugs you can buy at the grocery store for $2-3... Pop a hole in the top and slip in your hose... Then you'd always have fresh drinkable water and you could carry an extra jug.

That sounds like a fantastic idea, although I'd probably want it to be a little more permanent and clean looking. I think the only issue with the ebay tank is that, wouldn't the hose have to reach the bottom of the tank for the pump to work? I probably need a certain tank or some kind of attachment.

So, I am still trying to figure out how to do this properly. There are absolutely no photos or details about this on the internet. I found one photo from another forum. I've added here. Does anyone have a system like this that they can post some photos of? Thanks!

Question is, what do these systems look like? I'm curious to see what they look like from the factory? What sort of tanks are typical in this setup? I know what I need, I just want to see what it should like like. I have a feeling the boat came with a sink, but the tank was never included.

Could be dozens of different setups... Very little chance of it not being complete when new tho.

If that sink was factory, and meant for freshwater, There is more than likely a freshwater tank on board already. Unless it was removed by the Po. I'd look in every place possible for the tank, and if it's any good.
