hello all. I am helping a relative look for a new boat. He thinking about a deck boat. Anyone know what is a good deckboat? A local dealer sells Azure and they look very nice. What do you think of Azure's? Who else makes a good deck boat? Thanks for your help.

ok i see that. but what do people think of the Azure's. that is what he is going to look at sportdeck 240. What other boats compare to this? Which engine would you go with? other options he should get? thanks

Azures are very very similar to Crownlines. In fact, the designer for the Azure line came from Crownline. Another line to consider that has both i/o and o/b deck boats is Hurricane.

A vote for Chaparral here. Their Sunesta line is very nice and tons of options available along with a very well built hull. I am a biased owner of one though :)

they are all good boats, properly maintained. he needs to chose the boat with the best layout and size for his particular use. some tend to be more ski, bling, pleasure, other lean more to fishing. there is a lot to chose from. the power plants is where the choice gets thin, alot only come with inboard/outboard drive systems. 5.7 is the minimum i would buy or a 24 footer. we just sold ours, and moved up to a bigger cuddy cabin.

Tashasdaddy has good advice. I bought a Glastron in 03 that had a 5.7 dual prop. I enjoyed it and the power. I found I was fishing more that touring and traded it for something more applicable to my taste. I would say to think about just how you want to use it and then go sit on a few and feel the creature comforts they have. I learned on my Glastron some of the seating wasn't just what I wanted especially the drivers seat and the fishing ability was hampered. Make sure it will accommodate all the extras you want to put on it.... http://forums.iboats.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
