Folks,<br /><br />I getting close to finish my project (18' rebuild), I have created two separate compartments for batteries and a larger compartment for storage.<br /><br />My question is: I would like to install removeable hatches over each and would like them to be water tight, the space I have to work in is 23" by 12" outside dimensions for batteries, 24" square for storage. I have looked at the nylon hatches they are pricy, aluminum even more pricy. If I wanted to build them what is the best way to make them water tight? What type of hinges should I use? Is there a recommended overlap on the inside? What type of sealent? Anything else you can think of with regard to these things?<br /><br />Please advise.
