Re: deck or pontoon

Since pontoons are aluminum the fiberglass deckboats are usually perferred for saltwater. In any event 2 foot seas would not be much fun in most pontoons.

Yea KC is right about the 2 foot seas. I saw a family out today on a 'toon in some reasonably rough water, didn't look like much fun. The deck boats will handle better and move faster in most cases. Both of which would be a plus in my book.

go for the deckboat. i have owned both. the deckboat is much better in heavy seas ( not uncommon for 5 foot chop where i boat , and my 26' deck handles them with no problem )....many to choose from and nobody builds a poor one, the biggest decision is going outboard or i/o.
