Deck Repair Over Stringer

Hey all, long story short t top pulled out of a boat I’m working on. The rear foot held on and cracked the bottom of the deck a couple inches inboard of the left hand stringer. It also broke the bond to the stringer so I need to fix them both.

Im going through the top of the deck. Part I’m not sure on is best way to reattach the deck to the stringer right there. Better than original to just start laying up glass ontop of the stringer and then build that into the deck? Make a resin putty under the first layer like factory? Odd situation so I’m not finding much info.

Most likely need more than deck as that is the last thing to rot after the transom and stringers

Go to the stickies at the top of the forum, 4th one down, read links 14,15, and 18

Thank you sir, although great information it’s not what I am up against. I have a 2 foot area right along a stringer that I will be removed the upper glass, core, and the lower glass. The new lower section of glass needs to be bonded to the stringer. Stringer is glass about 4-5 inches wide. No wood in the boat.
