I have been searching the forum and I can't find much info on replacing the decking in an aluminum boat in which the bench seats are riveted through the hull, holding the sides of the boat together. It is a 1983 starcraft 16' v-hull fishing boat.(no console) The decking starts at the transom and goes under the rear bench, side lockers, and middle bench seat. From the factory there was no decking between the front seat and the middle seat.

Looking to see if anyone has any experience with this kind of repair on a similar boat. Replacing the deck seems fairly straightforward...but some first hand experience or pictures would be a big help.

Thanks,

Dan

i actually prefer to cut panels, and lay them in the boat, that way they can be removed to clean. you really need to get the old out, and see what you have. then you can decide what you have to connect too.
