I have a deep cycle marine battery that is about 5 years old but hasn't been charged in the last two years. Is there any way to bring this thing back to life? Or should I trade it in?

Try it on a charger. If it charges up full on the meter, it's still fine. If not, I'd get another one.

5 years old it's probably done. Take it in to your Marina and have it load tested.

Re: Deep Cycle Battery Question

Load testing is worthwhile if you use the same battery for starting your engine. I have some older batteries which are useless for cranking, but will still work "ok" for my little trolling motor or other electrical low drain items. Clearly, if it doesn't load test well, you know it's on the way out.

Do yourself a favor and replace it.Not worth the risk of getting out one day and not being able to get home..

I agree with crazy charlie it's not worth the risk! If it's not gone it most likely will go soon. in the worst possible place and time(murphy's law in this case) :) Gray Fins ..
