probably a dumb question: But here it goes..........Do you hook a Depth finder up to starting battery or trolling motor battery?

Marine electronics, especially depthfinders, are sensitive to voltage fluctuations, such as those steep drops which occur during engine starting. Therefore, starting batteries are usually considered the last choice for powering your depthfinder if you have other options.
