Determining A Boats Yr. of Mfg.

I have a 15' Rinkerbuilt Tri-hull with a Serial # of: 1556470, and a capacity of 900lbs.<br /><br />Can anyone tell me what year it is? :confused:

The last two digits of the hull ID number are the year, BUT I'm not sure what year that became the rule. I think it was late 70's, early 80's. Yours might be a 1970, then again, maybe not. :D I'm sure someone here knows the answer. Actually looking at yours again, I think that was built before the standard, since the letters for the abbreviation of the company's name aren't included in that ID number.

Yep Mike is right. the last two digits. But that came into play I think 1976

Actually guys its was 1972 and after that required HIN. Look here and see if this helps?<br /><br /> MIC

Thanks for all the help guy's, I went to the "MIC" site which gave me all the contact info. that I needed, so I called the mfg., and it is a 1970. And after that around 1972 they changed the serial # process to "RNK#####".
