How do I determine the proper pitch for my prop. I have a 1980 fiberglass procraft fishing boat with an 80HP mercury on it. I had an aluminum prop that was siezed and had to destroy it to get it off. So I don't know what to replace it with. Can anyone help?

My guess would be to start with about a 17" pitch. Then, find out what your WOT tach. reading is.
