Hi All,

Just thought id let you know after reading these forums,I chased around my local Town in Australia and found a USA product called Devcon.

I needed this to repair my Aluminium boat that had a few minor holes. This is a great product, and i had a hell of a time trying to tear this back of my boat as a test.Very easy to work with, and looks like it will do the job well.

Re: Devcon - Aluminium Hole repairer

The question is?? Does it dry rock hard? Many people in the USA also use JB Weld. Epoxies are great however..... if there is any flex in the repair area there are specific epoxies for that such as Gluvit (which also "creeps and moves" before drying to get into cracks) or many people use 3m 5200 adhesive.

Whatever you use be certain to clean the area and keep an eye on it in the future for signs of failure. You have no idea how many people used silicone and later found out that it fails.

Epoxy normally does not provide UV protection so it is a good idea to paint it .....if the sun will beat down in it.
