I bought the kit from Eastwood that has a small gun and a bigger one. It is a nice kit that has just about everything to clean and maintain the guns.

Today I finally used it to primer some wheels. Oh Boy am I sold on it. :D I just hope it can lay the paint on them as easy it was for the primer. The next project after the wheels are done is to finally get the polyurethane put on my wifes bookcase. I've been waiting for the weather to be around 72 which is now starting to be a normal temp for us.

Sound like the Starting Line model........ I have a set right next to me and waiting to try them out. I hope I have nice things to say like you. Did you use epoxy primer? As per the reviews on that set be VERY careful with the cup threads

Re: DeVillbis HVLP

I haven't tried epoxy yet in it. Want to get comfortable in taking it apart to clean everything thing first. The kit I got has aluminum cups. I got it for $30 cheaper on ebay than in their catalog or website. Came in a nice plastic case also. I picked up some disposable cups from Harbor Freight. They won't work on the smaller but fit great on the large gun. It didn't leak or dribble a drop.

I did use etching primer on those rims. Then I am going to spray Rustoleum Hammered Silver paint for the final coat. That stuff is pretty durable.

BTW, thanks for moving this here, I thought I was here when I submitted the post. Don't know how it got put in Dockside. ... Gremlins attack again :D

How did you prep the wheels? Sandblast or sanded or just scuffed?

I put them in a blast cabinet using aluminium oxide. It took paint and rust off. washed them down with acetone prior to primer.
