Has anyone here replaced a prop shaft in a 2005 df 140? just found that mine has a slight wobble when running it on the muffs. How hard of a job is it? any special tools required? Can I pull the prop shaft without removing the whole lower? Waiting on a repair manual right now.

I replaced mine on a dt75, it wasn't hard but i'm an auto tech. are you geting a factory manual(suzuki)? the lower unit does have to be removed. the gear selector rod under bottom carb has to be disconnected. then it slides down. rebuild water pump and change shaft seals while your there. getting it back together is a lkittle tricky, don't force it. no hammer it should slide back together. there might be some corrosion, so clean it before reassembling

I am getting the manufacturers manual. I talked to a local marine mechanic on the phone the other day and he said that he did a df200 last year and didn't have to pull the lower.

I got the manual today, and you are right. The shift shaft has to come up to pull the prop shaft. Did you have to re-shim the prop shaft gears? That is the only thing holding me back from doing it myself. Everything else looks pretty straight forward.
