Re my post "150 Johnson Fast Strike wot rpm drop", how could you know that #1 was the problem per ur post April 2,2002? Capn, ur good!

"The "u-tube" problem was on the V4's. When you pull the plugs on your 150 does #1 look different? What plugs are you using? What fuel?"

That's exactly the current condition and state of affairs. What is significant about #1?

Will have to get info on fuel and plugs. This is my son's boat, but my problem now that he has told me about it.

The problem on the 6v6 was the glue seam leak that showed up in number 1. You are correct that the "U" tube problem showed up in the V4's and caused water to show up in #4 cylinder.

If you have water in #1, there are a couple of guys that can fix it for you.

With todays fuel I run (in stock motors) only FRESH 87 octane and cooler plugs (Champion QL77JC4), good oil (I use Pennzoil Blend - again, stock motors) and set them up to turn 400 to 500 hundred RPM's of the rev limiter. With the 60 degree 150/175 the limiter is at either 6200 or 6700 depending on your ignition.

They are great motors. Good luck!
