Re: DHadley, could you look at the pics of my motor height??
I will try and make this as short as possible:
I took her out today, and she ran great!!!!! Well kind of..

One of the changes I made last week was on my tach setting, The teleflex instructions said to set the tach to 6P... I removed my flywheel and counted the # of poles and I have 4 large pick ups on each side, and 2 small pick ups on each end. I was told that it is considered a 4 pole stator and should set my tach to 4P...

Upon my test run tonight (with the tach set on 4P) I ran 7000+ RPM, at 40MPH in semi rough conditions, no trim...

I reset my tach to the original 6P position and ran the typical 4800RPM at 40MPH, same conditions.

I verified my timing at 4800 RPM running across the lake, I saw 26*. (That was kinda nerve racking)

I am running a 13x19 SST 3 blade prop, I also marked it to see if maybe the hub is slipping, I will check that tomorrow.

The motor seemed to plane faster, could just be me, I did change the head gaskets to the standard type, I need to re-verify my compression numbers, and I installed new power packs.

I ran with my engine cover off at WOT .(checking to see if I had a possible exhaust leak)and the RPM / performance DID NOT change, I also pushed in the electric primer switch (key) and also no effect to RPM / Performance...

So there is my info from my test, I cant imagine I am running at 7k RPM, my ear says it isnt running 7k, it definatly sounds like it has more to offer......
