Within the last month or so I read a thread in this forum regarding a member who wasn't happy with his 140 1980 Johnson. He was wanting to "setback" his engine ,he even was considering a transom jack plate. A member I'm hoping it was, was you who mentioned to him about a magazine article about a "performance rebuild".What caught my eye was it was a father helping his daughter with this project. Does any of this "ring a bell"and if so do you remember the particular magazine.I have the same engine so I am wondering!!!!

Anything would be helpful.

You might try a google search, Magazine article blah blah blah. Sometimes it will come right up.

The article never came out. The magazine switched editors and the new guy killed it. It's funny you mentioned it, I was just talking to some of the other writers for that magazine (BWB -- used to be Bass & Walleye Boats) at the MAATS show last week. They still have the article and we're trying to get them to publish it. Would sort of go hand in hand with the Bullet / Johnson project they're doing now. John Tiger Jr. wrote the article and I suspect it would be a great family based article. John told me how much fun it was and how good the whole deal turned out. A stock motor on a Baja ski boat, father daughter resto project -- it doesn't get much better.
