Does anyone know how to check an ICM module to determine if it is working properly? Warning alarm not sounding when ignition is turned on before start-up and ignition is not advancing properly. Would like to be certain module is defective before spending big bucks for a replacement.

Help appreciated.

You can download the manuals for it, with all the appropriate tests and diagnostics.... If you had give the engine, year and serial number I could have posted them here, right now, for you....

Or you can just browse through this list and select the one you need.

Check out your alarm and alarm switches first. If one of them is defective and closed, it will prevent timing from advancing. Just disconnect the Tan/blu wire from the ICM and advance should work.
