Diameter of the steering cable rod question

Hi. I'm trying to get my 2004 Regal 1800 LSR with Volvo Penta 4.3 GL on the water again. Steering was stuck. After some research I found that steering cable is stuck. It looks like water gets in and corroded the cable.
All markings on the original steering cable are gone, so I've ordered new Sea Star SSC13415 steering cable using measurement guide on the forum. It fits to the helm properly, length is correct, but diameter of the end rod to be inserted into the steering actuator is about 1 millimeter more comparing to the original steering cable.
I didn't find diameter of the rod anywhere, so I'm curious if I have any other options except replacing my steering actuator to fit the new cable rod?
Any help or advices would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

It looks like the tip on the rod is little bit larger then the corresponding whole on the actuator. After grinding the tip slightly, I was able to put the steering cable back in place. Thank you for your help!
