Recently purchased but yet to take delivery of a Nissan 15 Hp long shaft . The outboard will be going onto a Achilles SE 131 . The maximum HP rating for the boat is 35 HP ... Any thoughts ?

I'm no expert here. Though my 14 ft Mercury has a 25 hp on it. Not quite as powerful as I would like, but I have no where to be in a hurry. If it's just forgetting around off a bigger boat you will probably be fine.

The good news is it'll plane the boat with a significant load. Bad news is you won't be a speed demon. Look for about 18 to 20 mph with a moderate load.

Maybe a bit light, but it will plane out at least .... why long shaft? It might not work so well with the long shaft ....

I think that Achilles calls for a long shaft.

It's only Ribs that take long shafts, well the bigger 18ft ones anyway ....
