Did I evaporate my aluminum fiberglass roller!?!??!

I wanted to burn off resin that filled in the spaces of my fiberglass roller last night so I took the aluminum roller off the handle and put it in my bonfire.

I don't have a butane torch and the friend who does lives 15 minutes away.

This morning I sifted through the ashes and no roller. I even took the air compressor to blow away all the ashes and still nothing. My drill's resin mixer survived the fire.

What happened??? Did my fire heat up so much that the roller evaporated? Sometimes it can turn other metals like a lawnmower blade orange and white.

those little propane torches that plumbers use are cheap and come in handy for quite a few things, including cooking.

Wood fires burn between 800-1300 degrees F depending on many factors. Aluminum begins to change phase at appx 975 degrees F. It certainly didn't evaporate, but it probably did go liquid and is now unrecognizable amongst the ashes. The resin mixer is probably a ferrous alloy and no longer at the original stiffness. Be careful not to bend it when mixing your next batch.

Sorry for your loss, but I can't help laughing at the same time. That is a funny title.

Talk about using a sledge hammer to kill an ant
