Did I fix my problem?

I posted a while back but didn't have many good answers about how to fix my problem. Basically driving the boat full throttle and all of a sudden drops to 2500-2900 RPM.. Thought it was the temp sensor.. not it..

I pulled spark plugs and the carbs. I noticed gas wasn't going to one of the carbs. Gas was going to the hose of the third carb, but not coming out of the carb (thru drain plug).. SO I pulled it apart, probed around, pushed a pin thru the supply valve.. put it back together, and gas started flowing..

I took it out on the lake and bada bing! The boat now runs at Full throttle again!

Now! Did I REALLY FIX MY PROBLEM?! Engine is a 1993 Evinrude 70HP 2 cycle 3 cyl.

ALSO! What is the OIL/GAS ratio on self mix? 50:1 seems like it is too high? Engine still smokes while idling even after it is warmed up.

mixing yourself is 50-1, you can try the synthetic oils tcw3 rated, they are suppose to smoke less. remember it's a 2 cycle and it's going to smoke, because it does not burn all the oil, part is for lubrication. sounds like you fixed your problem.

50:1 for self mix is for every engine? The VRO would pump at 25:1 then (going by SELOC manual)?

As far as "problem fixed".. I hope that was the problem. I think there was something clogging the fuel valve in that carb.. Only because at times (before the "fix") the engine would try to rev past 2900, but wasn't able to. That also led me to believe it was an overheating issue,(thinking it was in S.L.O.W. mode, but didn't find any causes to be so. Either way, I'm going fishing tomorrow! Fresh seatrout!
