did i get jacked or evaporated?

Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out if my boats fuel tank was siphoned or if the fuel evaporated ? last week when pulling my boat up to the dock my friend accidentally broke the the fuel tank vent screen. i hadn't got a chance to mess with the boat much since and wasn't able to find a replacement locally for the screen part . anyway i had about 15 gallons of gas in there with stabil my wife and i went to take it out today and my tank was completely empty!! is it possible that since the vent screen was missing it sped up the evaporation of the fuel? Or did somebody get some free fuel?

also where can i purchase the vent the tank is internal and i would just like to purchase the vent part that i can just screw on to the vent line that is already there i don't mind buying the whole set up and just tanking it and using the part i need

15 gallons of fuel doesn't disappear unless the engine used it, it leaked out, or it had help from a thief. It most definitely did not "evaporate".

Ok that's what i figured thank you honestly im kinda hoping the thief got it since i don't want to have to mess with the tank . wouldn't i be able to smell if it was leaking though like in the bilge area or something?
also would it be bad to run the boat without the screen part?

If that many gallons of fuel leaked out of your boat the federal government would make the area it was stored a superfund site!!!!(Just kidding) heck yeah you would smell it from a long ways away like across the block if the wind was right.

Thank you all for letting me know what you thought i asked the neighbors if they saw anything suspicious none of them did but they did say that it was happening to alot of cars a few months before i moved here so I'm guessing that is what happen since there is no smell of fuel so I'm going to set up a security camera to see if i can catch who's doing it hope it aint the neighbors lol

It was pirates with an Okie credit card...they sneak in/out by water.
