Boat is a 1997 Four Winns 258 vista. Has a 7.4L volvo with an sx-m outdrive. My transom was rotted so I'm at the tail end of replacing it and thought, hey let's measure my thickness. I'm just under 2" and still have to put 1708 on the inside of the transom.. am I going to be too thick?? I cannot find anywhere specifications for thickness. The original transom was two 3/4" boards and thats what I used. I used "peanut butter" to adhere the transom to the hull which seems to make up about 1/8" of thickness.
I followed Frisco's write up to the T when doing mine, although his was a searay but had same drivetrain.. totally freaking out right now
