Did I mess with the timing???

75 Merc 500 50hp, I was trying to adjust those little tunions(barrels) on the side to adjust the linkage...I know one operates the throttle,what does the other operate..did i hurt the timing??? thanks Erik

If your talking about the trunnions on the control cables no you did not do any thing to the timing. One cable is for throttle(top) and the other for shift(bottom)
