It only makes sense to take security into consideration when you have tens of thousands of people gathered in one place.
All police that I see in the US have firearms. But what good is a 9mm pistol when the problem is 50-150 yards away?
I do technical work for Texas Tech University and know where the 4 snipers and spotters are stationed throughout our 60,500 seat stadium. I know they will only take action in the event of someone making a clear threat with a deadly weapon as would the dozens of other LEOs from the local police force, the university police force, the county sheriff's ofice and the Texas department of public service.
It is fun to stand around the student entrance where there are a line of officers standing in a row. Come in staggering a little to much and they'll take you to the side. They also check for bootknives.
I feel very, very safe at our football games!

Actually - with the snipers being local law enforcement, I'm kinda' okay with it (preferred against Federal agents).

That's a nice rifle. I've never shot .300 Win Mag - I've got a .300 Savage though ... shoot it wrong and your should goes numb :)

Tougher to pick the right head

it's probably the one with a gun.
almost no reference, I'm sure he/she had a rangefinder but without that it'd be pretty hard to gauge.

Well its important to note that at least one of these pictures was taken before the crowd showed up, so I would bet they are checking distances, talk about a perfect situation, no wind, perfect humidity, perfect weather conditions plus the advantage of knowing the distance to your shot nearly perfectly, almost no possibility of a shot further then 200 yards, my buddy (a SWAT Sniper of 10+ years) said this would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

I think the thing that concerns me the most is that after Spygate and now this, just how far is Belichick willing to go to win a football game....

JUST KIDDING!!!!!

I'm currently shooting at a 100yd indoor range, it really makes it easy now I just wish it was a 300yd. Oh and that the rifles would cooperate.
